Based in Catterick, Henry Cummins, 44, of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards directs the Army’s Afghanistan-specific live-fire training exercises, taking place mostly at the Castlemartin range in Pembrokeshire. “Every company or squadron going to Afghanistan comes to me for up to a week and I get them shooting properly,” he says.
